It was a cold, bleak winters night and the rain
was beginning to come down harder. Angel Parker
still had another ten miles to drive
before she would reach the next town
and the nearest motel.
Angel wished the rain would clear up soon, but it
didn't look like it was going to be happening anytime
soon. The rain was coming down harder by the minute now
and it was becoming more and more difficult for her to
see where she
was going.
As much as Angel hated the decision, she knew she had
no other choice than to pull over to the side of the
road and to wait.
She slowly pulled her car to the side of the road,
cut the engine, and sighed before she leaned over
and retrieved a napkin out of her glove compartment.
She used the napkin to try to wipe off the moisture
from the windshield in front of her, but it was no
use. She still couldn't see the road in front of her.
"Damn,"Â she muttered as she wadded up the napkin and
threw it behind her into the back seat of her car.
“How much more badly can this day get?†she asked
herself aloud. She felt as if she had been cursed.
She knew the only thing left was for her to sit and
wait for the rain to let up some. What Angel really
wanted to do more than anything else right now was get
to the motel as quick as possible, order in some food
and then go straight to bed so she could get some sleep.
She didn't know how much longer she’d be able to stay
awake.
She hadn't had a single bite of food to eat since she
had left her apartment that morning. Her stomach was
beginning to growl from hunger and she was so tired she
was beginning to yawn. She could barely keep her eyes
open.
Today had been a long day and it didn't seem to want
to end. It seemed to want to drag on and on. She couldn't
believe she was where she was now. It had all started early
that morning when she had been awakened from a sound sleep
by the sound of someone knocking impatiently on her front door.
She had dragged herself out of bed and wrapped herself in her
robe before going to the front door to see who it was. When she
opened the door, a man who was delivering a telegram to her
greeted her. The telegram was from her brother, Trevor. He
wanted her to come to Druxel Manor as quick as she possibly
could.
Trevor had spent the past six months trying to track
down their biological parents or any information he
could get his hands on that could lead him to their
exact whereabouts. Their biological parents had given
them up for adoption many years ago. In Angel's mind,
she truly believed that their biological parents didn't
want them and wouldn't appreciate it if the two of them
showed up in the near or far future. Why else would they
have given them away? They couldn't have loved her and Trevor
too much to just turn them over to two strangers to raise.
There was no one alive who could possibly change her opinions
of her biological parents.
She had stated her feelings to Trevor on more than one
occasion and had tried talking him out of this search,
but Trevor refused to take no for an answer, and so he
had continued with the search. But what had she expected?
Trevor had always been the stubborn type. You would think
she would be used to his stubborn ways by now, but she
wasn't. His stubborn ways irritated the hell out of her.
There was no way to get him to bend or sway him away from
his search. She had spoken to him until she was practically
blue in the face. All of her efforts had been fruitless.
Angel feared what the outcome would be if Trevor
was to succeed in finding their biological parents.
She also feared that the couple who had adopted and
raised the two of them as their own, when their own
biological parents didn't want them, would be deeply
hurt in the end. Angel wanted to protect them from all
that, but she wasn't sure how much longer she would be
successful in that. Her brother seemed to set in his ways
to care about the feelings of the parents who had raised them.
It seemed as if he would stop at nothing to get what he wanted,
even if it meant hurting those closest to him, herself included.
When Peter and Claudia Parker had adopted Angel and Trevor,
Angel had only been four months old, and Trevor had been
three years old. Peter and Claudia Parker were the only
parents Angel had ever known. Who knew what would have
happened or what would have became of her and Trevor
if the Parkers hadn't been so kind as to take them in
when they had nowhere else to go.
Angel shivered as the wind whipped up against her small,
compact car. She reached in the back seat of her car and
grabbed a jacket she kept in her car for occasions just
like this one. She slid the jacket on and zipped it up before
she looked at her watch. It was eleven twenty. Angel let out
a sigh and wondered just how much longer she would need to
wait. She hoped it wasn't to much longer.
Angel smiled as she remembered the summer she was five
years old. Trevor had just turned eight years old shortly
after school had gotten out for summer break. To this day she
still had no idea what her parents had been thinking that
summer when they decided to take them all on a road trip
that year for their vacation. They usually just flew off to
some exotic resort overseas for a couple of weeks, but
not that summer. That summer had been entirely different
from any other. It had been the vacation from hell. It
was also one vacation Angel would never forget.
Angel remembered the car her father had insisted on
purchasing for the trip. The car was an old clunker,
so we can fit in with all the other families on the
road, her father had said on that long ago day when
she and the rest of her family had stood looking at
the car in horror. They had all complained about how
they didn't want to go anywhere in that car, but her
father had insisted. In the end, he had also won out.
After being on the road for only one day, the old clunker
had broken down. Her father had to get out and push the old
car to the side of the road. They spent three hours on the
side of the road while her father had tried to figure out
what the problem was and fix it himself. They had all been
relieved when her father finally decided to walk to the
nearest gas station to call a tow truck to take the car to
be fixed and a taxi to take them to the closest hotel to wait
for the car to be repaired. The memory brought a smile to her
lips. She wondered what her father had ever done with that car
after that. Maybe he had junked it.
Twenty minutes later the rain finally let up enough so
that she could see the road once again. Angel started her
car and then she gasped at what she saw through her rearview
mirror. Through her rearview mirror, she could see a red car
parked right behind her. It looked to be the same red car she
had seen parked out in front of her apartment complex that
morning while she was leaving on this trip. Her hand
instinctively flew to her chest and clutched it as her heart
rate began to beat faster.
When she had saw the same red car following her throughout
the day, she had convinced herself that it couldn't possibly
be the same red car she had saw that morning while she was leaving.
But she now knew for sure, that whoever was driving the red car
was following her. There wasn't a single doubt left in her mind
now. Was the person dangerous? she wondered. Why on earth would
anyone want to follow her? She took several deep breaths to
try to calm her heart rate down.
Angel pulled her car back out onto the road and watched
through her rearview mirror as the red car pulled out onto
the road right behind her. Her heart began to beat a little
faster and her hands became sweaty as she gripped the steering
wheel as tight as she could. She knew this just wasn't her
imagination getting the best of her. She kept an eye on the road
in front of her and the other pinned on the red car behind her.
The car stayed right on her tail.
She tried to remember everything she had learned in her
self-defense classes she had taken in college after one
of her fellow classmates had been brutally raped and killed
one night when leaving the college campus library where she
had been studying late for a test.
Angel felt a little relieved when she saw the city limit sign
welcoming her to the small city of Richmond Heights. Her mind
raced as she quickly tried to figure out what she should do next.
She knew her next move could prove to be fatal or it could save
her life. Angel knew for sure that she couldn't go straight to
the motel as she had planned on doing. She had no idea why she
was being followed and she didn't want to find out either.
Murder scenes she had read about in books and had read in
newspaper articles flashed through her mind. She shuddered at
the thoughts. She tried to push the images from her mind.
Angel decided that the best thing to do would be to drive
straight to the police station and see if the driver of
the red car continued to follow her. She knew it was her
only choice, especially if she wanted to make it through
this ordeal alive.
Angel drove down the tree-lined streets of Richmond Heights
and was relieved when she spotted the police station just ahead
of her. A few minutes later, she pulled right up in front of the
doors of the police station. She grasped on to the door handle
and was prepared to run inside if she needed to. She wasn't about
to take any chances. Angel watched as the driver of the red car
continued to drive on down the road. She let out a big sigh of
relief. Angel sat back in her seat and waited a few minutes longer
to make sure that whoever was following her really was gone before
she decided to leave the police station. Before she pulled back out
onto the road, she looked in every direction to make sure that the
person in the red car really was gone. She was relieved to see that
the red car and its driver were nowhere in sight.
Angel checked her watch. It was now a little past midnight
and all she could think about was getting a bite to eat and
getting to the motel and getting a good night sleep before she
had to be back on the road again and head straight to the town
of Cedar Pines. And to Druxel Manor. The thought of going to
Druxel Manor left an uneasy feeling right in the pit of her
stomach.
As Angel drove, she looked for a fast food place that a
drive-thru
was still open at this time of night. Ten minutes later,
she finally found one that was still open. She ordered
herself a cheeseburger, fries and a soda pop and then
looked for a place to park her car while she ate.
As she ate, she wondered what it was that Trevor had discovered
about Druxel Manor in Cedar Pines where he was staying now. She
also wondered why he had insisted that she come to Druxel Manor.
Did he find their biological parents and want her to meet them
now? She didn't want to think such a thought. What confused her
very most though was why Trevor had insisted on her driving
instead of flying there. It made more sense to her to fly there.
I could have been there by now, she thought.
Angel had almost not made this trip at all. Part of her was angry
with Trevor for expecting her to just drop everything at the last
minute and leave on some stupid trip, yet there was a part of
her that was worried about Trevor. The part of her that was
worried about Trevor had won out in the end and now here she
was. Now she wondered if she had made the right decision to
start out on this trip to Druxel Manor.
Before leaving her apartment that morning, Angel had taken the
time to call her parents and left a message on their home
she knew they would be. She knew that if she had called
them at their office, they would have asked her all kinds
of questions she couldn't answer truthfully. She had simply
told them in her message that she needed to go out of town for
a few days and would call them as soon as she could. She hoped
they couldn't tell by her tone of voice that she was worried.
The last thing she wanted to do was alarm them. She had purposely
omitted from her message why she was going out of town and where she
was going.
Angel couldn't bring herself to tell them the truth. She knew that
the truth would inflict pain on her parents and she didn't want
to hurt them that way. She would never be able to forgive herself
if she ever did.
She knew they would find out someday and when that day came;
she knew they would be crushed about the whole ordeal. Angel
couldn't help but wonder how Trevor could risk hurting their
parents this way.
As far as she was concerned, Peter and Claudia Parker were their
only parents and they were the only parents that she wanted and
needed. Although, she would never admit this to anyone, it was
true that she had often wondered while growing up and still to
this day, what her biological parents looked like and if she
looked more like her mother or her father, but she had no real
desire to ever meet them. The Parkers had done a great job
raising the two of them. They had always seen to it that she and
Trevor had attended the best schools while growing up. They had
even paid for her and Trevor's way through colleges of their
choice.
Angel thought about Karen Parker. Karen was the greatest big
sister anyone could ever ask for. Karen was Peter and Claudia
Parker's biological daughter, but they had always treated all
three children the same. While growing up, Trevor, Karen, and
Angel had been inseparable. They even got into mischief together
and shared many secrets. That was until high school when the three
of them started creating friendships with other classmates. Through
it all, the bond between them had survived.
Then came their college years. When Trevor had gone away to
college, things began to change. Trevor had cut the bond that
he had once shared with Karen. The bond between she and him
remained the same. Not a week went by that she didn't receive
a letter in the mail from him. In those letters he had told her
in detail what college life was like. In a sense, it had prepared
her for college when it was her turn to go.
Angel knew she could never accept any other couple for parents,
even if they were her biological parents. She was actually glad
that their biological parents had given them both up for adoption.
She knew that if they hadn't given them both up for adoption,
there was a real good chance that she and Trevor might not have
had as good of an upbringing as they had with the Parkers. Now why
can't Trevor see things my way for a change? she wondered as she
ate the last bite of her hamburger.
Angel gathered up all her trash. She got out and dropped it in a
nearby trashcan. Once she was back in her car, she realized how
tired she really was. She could barely keep her eyes open. She
quickly fastened her safety belt and started her car. She looked
all around her in every direction before leaving. She couldn't
help but feel a little paranoid and a bit jumpy as she drove
through the tree-lined streets of Richmond Heights to the motel
she would be staying in for the night. Tomorrow she would be at
Druxel Manor. She had no idea what lay ahead of her and she feared
the unknown.
It was about a quarter to one when Angel finally arrived and
checked herself into the motel. Angel looked around the small
room before she changed into a warm pair of flannel pajamas.
She double checked to make sure she locked the door before she
climbed into bed and wiggled down under the blankets. Within a
matter of a few minutes, she was sound asleep.

"Now what am I going to do?" James asked himself. He knew
Trevor wasn't going to be pleased when he found out he had lost
Angel. When he had saw her turn into the police station, he had
decided it was best to keep going because if he had startled her
and she had ran into the police station, it could have caused
some major complications. He had decided to drive a couple of
blocks, but he had ran into some traffic. Doesn't anyone in this
town sleep? he wondered. By the time he had gotten back to the
police station, Angel was gone.
He was also worried about her safety. There had been a few times
on this trip when he thought that Jake Taylor and his men were
going to get her. The thought of anyone laying a hand on Angel and
harming her gave him an uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach. He
had tried to convince Trevor that it was best that Angel knew the kind
danger she was facing so that she wouldn’t pull anything stupid,
but
Trevor had been unwilling to change his mind. It had been ages since
James had last seen Angel. She had grown up in many ways since his
last encounter with her. When James had first seen Angel that
morning, many emotions came over him that he hadn't felt in a long
time. It had to be the way she carried herself, that and her long
legs, long reddish brown hair, and her breasts were firm round mounds.
James began imagining what it would be like to have her in his bed.
James instantly felt a tightening in his jeans. “What the hell
am I doing?" he muttered to himself. I have to concentrate on
finding her, he thought.
Where could she be? he wondered. Where could she have
thinking, James reached for his cell phone. Damn! He had
forgotten that it needed to be charged. James started his car.
He drove around until he found a pay phone. He put in a call
to his right hand man, Mike McDunncan at his firm requesting
that he run a check to find out if anyone with Angel's license
plate number had checked into any of the motels in the Richmond
Heights area.
He gave Mike the number to the pay phone and asked him to call
him just as soon as he found out anything.
James leaned up against the brick wall as he waited for Mike to
call him back. It was times like this he wished he hadn't given up
smoking because he could sure as hell use a cigarette about now. He
had kicked the smoking habit about six months ago after his grandpa
on his mother's side of the family died from lung cancer. For much
of his life, his father had never been around because he was always
busy taking care of business. His grandpa had always been their for
him and treated him like a son. James was not the only one that his
father had neglected. He had neglected his mother so much she that
she couldn't take anymore and divorced him. She had taken James
with her to live with his grandparents. She had forbidden him to
see his father, without any explanation. He was a teenager when he
finally found out the reasons his mother had for not allowing him to
see his father. To this day, James despised his father and all of his
dirty business deals. He always did his best not to be like his father.
James was startled out of his thoughts by a shrill ringing sound.
He grabbed for the receiver when he realized that it was the phone
ringing.
“Hello?"
“I got the information you requested."
James breathed a deep sigh of relief. “What did you find out?"
James asked.
“Ms. Angel Parker is registered at the Honey Cone Motel out on
Route nine"
The next morning, sunlight poured into Angel Parker's room. She
yawned and then rolled over. She opened her eyes and looked around
the room before she turned to look at the clock on the small stand
beside the bed. Angel was surprised to see how late she had slept in.
It was about a quarter after ten. She should have been back on the
road over an hour ago. The fear that she had experienced the night
before must have exhausted her beyond the exhaustion she had
already been feeling. She hadn't slept in this late since her
college days.
Angel reluctantly climbed out of bed and walked into the
bathroom to take a quick shower before she got back on the
road for the last leg of her trip. After the scare she had last
night, she had half a mind to just turn around and go back home
before things got any worse. However, she knew she couldn't do that.
She knew that Trevor could have gotten himself into some type of
danger and might need her help to get himself out. She didn't want to
let Trevor down if he really did need her. She knew Trevor would always
be there for her too when she needed him.
Angel let the spray of the warm water from the shower run down
her. It felt so good on her sore, stiff muscles. She couldn't
remember a time when a shower felt this great before.
Angel stepped out of the shower and quickly toweled off before
she went back out into the room. She rummaged through everything
in her suitcase until she found her favorite pair of jeans and an
oversized light pink sweatshirt and slipped them on.
As soon as she finished dressing, she grabbed her hair dryer and
hairbrush and rushed into the bathroom. Thirty minutes later, she had
her hair dry and set to work fixing her hair. She groaned and scowled
as she looked at herself in the mirror. “I don't have time for a bad hair
day," she muttered to herself in disgust.
She ran back into the room and grabbed a black hair band before
going back into the bathroom. She pulled her hair back into a
ponytail and then examined herself in the mirror again. Good
enough, she thought and then hurried back out. She put on a little
make up before slipping on a pair of socks and a pair of old, but
very comfortable sneakers that she usually wore when she went on
her runs every morning back home. If she had been up earlier,
she might have had time to get in a good run, but now a run was
out of the question, which was too bad because her joints felt
stiff. She did a few quick stretching exercises to try to loosen
up some.
She packed all her belongings in her suitcase and ten minutes
later, she was ready to get back on the road. Angel grabbed her
suitcase, purse and car keys before taking one last look around the
room to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything, then shut,
and locked the door behind her.
When she got to her car, she unlocked the passenger side door.
She tossed her suitcase into the back seat of her car and then
walked around to the driver's side to get in. She had a feeling
she was forgetting something, but she couldn't quite put her
finger on what it was. She did her best to put the feeling aside
as she got into her car. Once she was behind the wheel, she felt
as if she were being watched by someone. I'm just feeling paranoid
from last night, she told herself over and over in her mind a few
times, trying to convince herself.
In a few short hours, she would be at Druxel Manor. She would be
seeing Trevor for the first time in several months. She wondered
what key Druxel Manor held to finding their biological parents.
Angel really hoped her biological parents wouldn't be there when
she arrived. She wasn't ready to meet them and she doubted
she ever would be ready to meet them. She really didn't know what
to expect once she got there. The unknown that she was facing was
making her nervous.
Angel had been worried about Trevor since the day he had left.
She really hoped he wasn't in any danger. It was her worry for
Trevor's safety that had motivated her to start out on this trip to
begin with. When she had first received the telegram, her first
instinct was to ignore it, so she had thrown it in the trash. She
was afraid he had found their biological parents. Then she began
to worry about Trevor. She fished the telegram out of the trash and
read it once again. She decided that if Trevor really was in any danger
at all, she would do whatever she could to help him. Angel and Trevor
had a close bond and had always been there for each other.
Angel started her car and slowly backed out of the parking space.
She looked around in every direction as she pulled out onto the road.
Through her rearview mirror, she saw as flash of red as the same red
car pulled out behind her. Someone was tailgating her again.
“This better be very important," Trevor, Angel said aloud to
herself. She had known Trevor was opening up an assortment of
problems the day he had left, but Trevor was too stubborn to see it.
Besides, if the man driving the red car really were dangerous, she
doubted he'd be trying anything in the light of day in a public place
with a lot of witnesses.
She noticed that whoever it was driving the red car really seemed
persistent. She looked through her rearview mirror to see if she could
recognize the driver, but it was too dark inside the red car for her to
see who it was because of the tinted windows. All she could see was
movement.
Angel drove straight to the nearest gas station. If she didn't stop
for gas now, she’d never make it to Cedar Pines. Angel watched as
the red car pulled into the gas station right behind her.
Angel pulled up to the gas pumps and cut the engine. She sat and
watched as the red car pulled into a parking space and parked before
she got out of her car. As she filled her tank, she watched as a
tall man with wavy, black hair that he kept cut short and combed back,
got out of the car. He was the best-looking Latino man she had ever
seen. Not only that, to be perfectly honest, he was the best-looking
man she had ever seen period.
Angel couldn't recall ever seeing the man before, but she had to
admit she found him to be quite handsome. He reminded her of a
Greek god. The man had to be at least 6' tall and was wearing a
nice pair of jeans that fit tight. He had broad shoulders and Angel
could tell he worked out. Angel watched him as he walked over to the
pay phone. She wondered what a good-looking man like himself
wanted with her. “Why is this man following me?" she whispered
to herself.
Angel noticed that as the man talked on the phone he looked
nervous. He held the receiver with one hand and he kept running his
fingers through his hair with the other hand. Whom could he possibly
be talking to about me? she wondered. Was it his boss? Had someone
hired him to follow her? Had they mistaken her for someone else?
***
“Don't you dare lose her again," Trevor barked into the phone.
“You know how important it is that you stay with her."
“I know just how important all this is," James said, “but I really do
think she's on to me and she just might try something foolish."
Trevor knew this could be a real problem. He knew how Angel
was. If she found out he had hired someone to follow her, she'd be
furious with him and there was a real good chance she would never
speak to him again, even if he were doing this for her own protection.
Angel was a strong-willed woman who believed she could take care
of herself. “Keep following her," Trevor said more calmly.
“But what if she really is onto me and confronts me? On the other
hand, even worse, what if she tries something foolish. I think we
should tell her everything that's happening so she doesn't try
anything foolish." The last thing he needed was for her to confront
him and cause a big scene.
Trevor thought about what James had told him before speaking.
“If she confronts you or does try something foolish, you'll just have
to think of something, but whatever you do, don't tell her anything
about any of this." With that, Trevor hung up the phone.
***
The man was just getting back into his car when Angel came out
of the gas station after paying for her gas and a breakfast
burrito she had grabbed to eat.
She got into her car and pulled into a parking space not far from
where the man in the red car had parked. She sat and ate her breakfast
burrito while she tried to figure out why the man was following her.
Angel had a feeling the guy wasn't a complete psycho because he had
never attempted to harm her.
She quickly finished her breakfast burrito, and then turned to look
in the direction of the red car. She could almost feel the man's eyes
pinned on her. The thought made her a little nervous and sent a chill
running down her spine, but at the same time, she felt a tingle of
excitement as she saw an image of him in her mind.
As she was pulling out, she looked in her rearview mirror and sure
enough, the red car was pulling out right behind her. “Maybe I can
find a way to lose him again when he's least expecting it," she said
to herself.
“Oh no!" She had suddenly realized just what it was that she had
forgotten. She had forgotten to call her office that morning before
leaving the motel room. She had planned to call her office to let her
boss know she'd be away for a few days and to check her messages.
She was hoping she would have some leads or news worthy tips she
could work on while she was away for future articles. She knew her
boss wasn't going to be too pleased when he found out about the
unexpected trip. She'd be lucky if she didn't lose her job over this.
That wasn't all she had forgotten. She also realized that she had
forgotten her cell phone was in her purse and it was turned off. She
had forgotten to turn it on before she left her apartment yesterday.
If anyone had tried to call her, they would have just gotten her voice
mail telling them to leave a message and she'd get right back to them
as soon as possible. She knew there was a good chance she had
messages from her family. They were probably worried about her by now.
Angel saw a turn off up ahead of her and decided to take it. When
she did, the man in the red car wasn't expecting it. He kept going until
he realized Angel had turned off the road. The man slammed on his
breaks and his car spun in circles, nearly causing an accident.
Angel laughed and kept going until she found a safe place to pull
over to the side of the road so she could check her messages. She
removed her cell phone from her purse and decided to check her cell
phone messages first before she checked in at the newspaper office.
She had four messages. One was from her boss, Harold, demanding
to know why she hadn't been into the office or at least checked in if
she was working on a story. Two were from her mother who sounded
upset and worried because Angel hadn't called them yet as she had
promised in the message she had left on their answering machine.
The last one was from her boyfriend, Scott Osborn.
Angel had left home in such a hurry the day before that she had
forgotten to call Scott. He had called her to confirm what time he
planned to pick her up for their date that night. Angel had planned to
cancel the date, but she was so worried about Trevor after receiving
the telegram, she had forgotten about Scott and their date. Guilt
began to wash over Angel as she began to realize she had not thought
about Scott on this whole trip until now. He'll really be going out of
his mind with worry when he shows up to pick me up tonight and I'm
not there, she thought.
Angel knew she needed to call Scott, but she had no idea what she
would say to him once she had him on the phone. Scott would never
understand any of this. Scott had always told her in the past that
if she ever decided to find her biological parents, he would do
whatever it took to help her, but she had made it very clear to him
that she had no desire to ever find them.
She also knew she needed to call her parents, but she had no idea
what she was going to say to them either. She knew they would want
to know where she was, but there was no way she could bring herself
to tell them the truth. They would know it had something to do with
their biological parents. The only information they had ever given
Angel and Trevor was that they lived in Cedar Pines and that they
weren't very nice people. The Parkers had warned both Angel and
Trevor on more than one occasion to never try and find their
biological parents. Trevor refused to heed to their warnings though.
He had always felt there wasn't something right about their adoption
and how they had ended up with the Parkers.
There was another reason Angel was against Trevor's search for
their biological parents; she felt Trevor would be hurt emotionally
if he were to find them, but Trevor kept insisting he could handle
whatever it was that happened once he found them.
Angel decided to call her office first, but before she could get the
number completely dialed, a black Mercedes Benz with tinted
windows pulled up behind her and stopped. She froze when she saw
a man wearing a black tuxedo walking towards her car.
Before she realized what was happening, the man had her car door
open. He reached around her and unhooked her safety belt. Angel
tried to stop him, but she was unsuccessful. The man dragged her out
of her car. Her cell phone had slipped out of her hand and fell to floor.
Angel began to kick and scream at the top of her lungs, hoping
someone would hear her and come to her rescue. The man reached
around her and clamped his hand over her mouth to quiet her down.
Out of nowhere, the man who was driving the red car appeared.
He grabbed Angel's attacker from behind, causing her attacker to
lose his grip on her. Angel fell to the ground and watched in horror
as the two men began to fight each other.
First, the man from the red car was on top, slugging her attacker
